What: CASA’s primary fundraising event of the year is a fun-filled evening featuring local celebrities dancing with local dance instructors and competing against each other. Local celebrity judges will rate each couple’s performance, and with audience votes added in, determine the “Critic Choice Award” winners. Online votes and donations determine the “People’s Choice Award” winners. The event not only offers a dance competition but good food, drink and music. The fourteenth annual CASAblanca: Dancing With the Local Stars is an event not to be missed!
Why: Proceeds from the event support the work of specially trained CASA volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children in the Tenth Judicial Circuit, which includes Peoria, Tazewell, Marshall, Putnam and Stark counties.

David Desmond is the Sales manager at Peoria Toyota and has worked there for 16 years. He loves to spend time with his amazing friends and family. David is adventurous and loves to go hiking and try new things! He is a huge animal lover and father to a 16 year-old fur baby Sadie David donates a lot of his time to the Heart of Illinois Special Recreation Association (HISRA) and is a coach for Special Olympics Softball and Track & Field, which he says is tons of fun. A style-oriented guy, David is always trying to look his best. He’s excited to be an Emcee for this year’s CASAblanca, having been a dancer and judge before!
EVENT HONORARY CO-CHAIRS
Adam Hawks is a financial planner with Hilltop Wealth Management of Raymond James and Associates and has been in the business for 19 years. He participated in 2017 CASAblanca, winning both the People’s Choice Award and the Critic’s Choice Award. Since attending Bradley University, he has lived in the Peoria area since 1993. He was a member of the Class of 2014 40 Under 40 Leaders. He is a proud member and current President of the Peoria North Rotary Club. Along with his fellow club members he participates in the Roosevelt Magnet Student Reading Program, Tee it Up for the Troops golf event, and other volunteer opportunities presented by the Club’s involvement. He is a big believer in giving back and staying engaged for the betterment of the local community. He is the proud father of 3 awesome and talented kids, Ryan (19), Claire (17), and Elle (14). Adam enjoys traveling, outside activities, and spending time with friends and family. He is very excited to get married later this year to this beautiful fiancé, Laura. He is flattered and happy to continue to be a part of CASAblanca. Through his daughter Claire’s fundraising efforts in Junior High for CASA, he became introduced to the organization and its leadership. He is thrilled to help in their fundraising efforts and humbled by the work that the CASA volunteers do for the community’s most vulnerable.
Arron McCall is the owner/operator of CrossFit North Peoria, which opened its doors in 2011. Arron is husband to wife, Kelly and father to 3 children, Tre’ (27), Madison (18), and Daylon (16). CrossFit North Peoria has hosted and supported various non-profit events and fundraisers, to include CrossFit for Hope, a yearly benefit for the children of St. Jude, and Barbells for Boobs, a benefit that provides free mammograms to low-income men and women. Arron was born in Jerseyville, Illinois and raised by two schoolteachers in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is a Marine Corp. veteran and a graduate of Montreal College in North Carolina. Arron and his family moved to Peoria, Illinois from Asheville, North Carolina in 2008. In his free time, Arron enjoys competing in CrossFit and weightlifting competitions, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a dancer in last year’s CASAblanca and he and his partner, Emily West, were the People’s Choice Award winners!

Teri Cook is the Owner of Cook Travel, which recently celebrated its 27th year in business. Over the past 27 years, Teri has tried to make a difference in the community. She has been a member of the Rotary Club of East Peoria since 1992 holding the position of president in 2000 during which time she received a Presidential Citation and Paul Harris Fellow recognition from Rotary International. Teri was a recipient of 40 Leaders Under 40 in 2000. In 2001, she was recognized by Illinois Jaycees as one of the top 10 Outstanding Young persons in the state of Illinois. Teri’s biggest passion is working with children in Central Illinois. She served on the Children’s Hospital of Illinois Community Relations Committee and was a VIP for Children’s Miracle Network. Teri served on the Peoria Ballet Board from 2008-2015 and held the position of President from 2010-2013. She is currently on the Heartland Festival Orchestra’s Board of Directors. She is a member of CASA of the Tenth Judicial Circuit’s Board of Directors and has chaired CASAblanca Dancing with the Stars for the past six years. She was the 2013 Dancing with the Stars winner. Teri enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
Karoline Seitz-Goddard is Vice President, Treasury Management Officer at CIBM Bank. Her position allows her the opportunity to build lasting relationships with her clients and participate in their success. Children are our future and Karoline sees great joy in volunteering with organizations that assist in our children’s development. Since 1993 Karoline has had the pleasure of working with students ranging in age from first grade through eighth grade, through Junior Achievement, introducing them to economic concepts to guarantee their success. She is a member of the advisory board of Illinois CancerCare Foundation, an organization committed to funding research, education and awareness in the fight against cancer. Karoline is also team member and Co-Treasurer of ROW Peoria, an organization whose mission is to give survivors of breast cancer the opportunity to interact, become active in their recovery and gain support from fellow survivors. Skiing, cars, rowing and running are some of Karoline’s favorite pastimes. CASA has been a very special organization to Karoline for a number of years and she is honored to be able to co-chair this year’s CASAblanca!
